Gilles’ 100 miles in Colorado 08.08.2012

Our close friend Gilles Poulin, a firm believer in ROTH’s mission since the beginning, is currently preparing to run 100 miles (160.9 km) in less than 30 hours on the 18th and 19th of August. As if this was not difficult enough, the race is taking place in Leadville, Colorado at more than 3000 meters of altitude. Running into thin air brings on its own challenges, not to mention that Gilles will have to face 5000 meters of ascent and 5000 meters descent throughout this grueling circuit.

With an objective of $100,000 for his 100-mile race, Gilles has made it possible to sponsor him by the kilometer, or for smaller budgets, by the meter. To show your support for Gilles, and to encourage him in this wonderful venture, please consider making a donation directly to the Ultragiving Foundation.

This will be Gilles’ 4th run for the Ultragiving Foundation, which he himself founded with the aim of helping small NGOs achieve big results. He completed a 50-mile running circuit in Vermont in 2009, the Vermot 50-mile cycle with a few of his friends in 2010, and the Vermot 100-mile ultra marathon in 2011. Each year, thanks to Gilles, his friends, and the generosity of donors towards the Ultragiving Foundation, ROTH receives grants that go directly towards the successful completion of various projects, such as the current construction of a Secondary School for Maasai girls in Tanzania.

For a sneak peak at what is awaiting Gilles in Colorado, details, and a short video.

Give to the Ultragiving Foundation and to help Gilles achieve his goal, finish the race, and raise $100 000 for very worthy projects.
