Fundraising

ROTH has a number of fundraising efforts taking place throughout the world. If you would like to volunteer for one of the fundraising activities or have an idea for a fundraiser that you would like to hold please email us at info@reachouttohumanity.org and tell us about it.

For more information about any of these events please email us at info@reachouttohumanity.org

It is with great enthusiasm and with an ambitious goal in mind, that we are launching reachingnewheights.ca.  Reaching New Heights is based on the shared belief of two organizations (Reach Out To Humanity and Montreal Young Leaders Club) that by working together we have the capacity to build a better world.

In 2009, Gilles Poulin ran 50 miles in 11 hours and 25 minutes at the Vermont 50 with the ambitious goal of raising $50 000 for three causes, including the construction of the Maasai Women Secondary School in Tanzania. One year later, after meeting his goal and taking part in a wonderful trip to Tanzania with his family to work with ROTH on the field, Gilles, along with eleven of his friends, decided to repeat the feat, but this time, on a mountain bike.

In September of 2009, we signed a lease for a very peculiar home in Vancouver, Canada, knowing that we were going to be its last occupants. We called it the Taj Love-All. The walls quickly became our canvas and throughout the year the house evolved into something magnificently and optimystically wyrd. Many of our friends suggested we have a demolition party during the final week of its existence, but we prefer creativity to wanton destruction and decided to open the house up to the public for a silent auction in effort to raise funds for ROTH's beautiful charity.

Last Sunday, Mother Nature responded accordingly to the wishes for cooler temperatures of the thousands of runners of the Marathon Oasis de Montréal.Some, like our volunteer Maryse, might even say she listened a little too carefully. It was cool and windy when Catherine began her 5 km race and Maryse, her half-marathon. However, the atmosphere was anything but cold. "I had a great time; the atmosphere on the course was incredible. I was very impressed with Montreal", said our volunteer Maryse, who completed her race in 2:12:51, a personal record that she offered herself as a birthday gift. Our volunteer Catherine, who sits on ROTH’s board, finished her 5 km in 00:36.

On September 5th, Maryse Gauthier will celebrate her 26th birthday. She told us that her 25th year was rewarding and unforgettable, in part because of her volunteering trip to Tanzania and her implication in Reach Out to Humanity's activities. Of a generous nature, she decided to run a half-marathon on the day of her birthday to raise funds for ROTH. You can help her reach her fundraising goal of 750$ by making a donation on her Giving Page.

Want to make a difference? Reach Out to Humanity (ROTH) is recruiting its team of runners for the Marathon Oasis de Montréal , held this September 5th! Runners have been participating in this marathon on behalf of ROTH for three years, raising over $30,000, helping to build life-saving and life-changing infrastructure all over the world.

John Reid, a great friend of ROTH, completed the Peterborough Half Ironman on July 4th in support of our Tanzania initiative, the Maasai Women Secondary School.

Last Wednesday June 16th, in the magnificent, panoramic hall of the Montreal Science Centre, a cocktail party of the world was held to celebrate the construction of the Maasai Women Secondary School and to raise funds for the project, the biggest ever built by ROTH.
