Week 6: July 9-July 13
Week 6 was a great week for ROTH and the community of Piave. The
Borehole team began drilling on Tuesday. Two days and 167 meters
of drilling later we finally hit water. The community will now
have access to an average of 5000 litres of water per hour.
With all the necessary digging completed in our septic tank, our fundis
laid the concrete floor, which allowed our volunteers to begin erecting
the walls of the tank. Our fundis also began working on the
outdoor laundry and kitchen facilities. This small building is situated
opposite the Maternity Ward.
Heavy machinery is brought in to dig 167 meteres in search of a water source.
ROTH Volunteer Frank is surrounded by local school children who came to watch the machines drill the borehole.
