Week 1: June 4-9
Jambo all! After three long days of traveling we finally arrived at the Nakuru Baby Orphanage. What a joy to be back in Kenya! We spent the first few days orientating volunteers and localizing equipment and finally got to digging on Thursday.
The “ground-breaking” ceremony was met with a lot of enthusiasm. We were greeted by MP Alisen Chalaite, the Minister of Health of Nakuru, Dr. Kariuki, the Dispensary Committee as well as members of the Piave community.
With the help of a devoted community and a team of hard-working volunteers and workers we were able to dig out the foundation in no time at all.
ROTH Founders Paul, Alannah, Frederique, and Koby break ground alongside MP Alicen Chalaite and Minster of Health Dr. Kariuki
Thanks to our fundis and volunteers the foundation is dug in no time.
