Many Kenyans suffer from impaired vision and cannot afford the luxury of prescription eyeglasses.  They therefore must carry on with their daily tasks without being able to see properly.  The See Humanity project began in December of 2006 when a ROTH founder was able to give an older woman the gift of vision by offering her a pair of her spare glasses.

Thanks to the help of generous donors, professionals, and ROTH volunteers, we were able to collect, identify, sort, and ship over 5000 pairs of prescription eyeglasses to Kenya.   Together with the expertise of Dr. Flora Kiplagat, we helped over 400 people with vision problems during the Nakuru Eye Camp.  The remainder of the glasses will continue to be distributed throughout Nakuru thanks to Dr. Kiplagat and her various outreach programs.

ROTH would like to thank Dr. Marg Courchesne and her patients for their very generous donation of spare eye glasses. Dr. Courchesne collected eye glasses from her patients, cleaned them and had them tested for prescription. Many people who visit the clinic in Kenya will benefit greatly from these glasses.
