ROTH is the happy recipient of the Carrying out projects – here and abroad grant provided by Sanofi-Aventis’ Humanitarian Partnership programme.  This 5,000 Euro grant will allow our partners SWAK (Society for Women and AIDS in Kenya) to train an additional 100 community based health care workers to continue their care of over 400 Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs) through out the Nakuru district.

These community based health care workers are essential in order to provide access to care and social support to those living with HIV and AIDS in their community.  The grant will also allow us to distribute 200 mosquito nets for the prevention of Malaria and 300 packets of sanitary towels for the girls who regularly miss school during their menstruation.  The grant will also allow an additional 150 OVCs to know their HIV status and be put on ARVs (Anti Retro Virals) as well as receive a formation on HIV and AIDS and reproductive health.
