These community based health care workers are essential in order to provide access to care and social support to those living with HIV and AIDS in their community. The grant will also allow us to distribute 200 mosquito nets for the prevention of Malaria and 300 packets of sanitary towels for the girls who regularly miss school during their menstruation. The grant will also allow an additional 150 OVCs to know their HIV status and be put on ARVs (Anti Retro Virals) as well as receive a formation on HIV and AIDS and reproductive health.
UPDATE (October 2010)
ROTH Project Managers returned to Kenya in April to work with SWAK and Sanofi-Aventis on their distribution, a completed report for which can be found here (PDF).
