Sam Wright
Sam manages the construction of a laboratory in a rural village called Piave in Kenya. "This lab will complement the existing facilities that Reach Out to Humanity (ROTH) built in 2007. Long story short, it will enable testing for HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria, and other national priority diseases to be done on site. This will enable the Piave Dispensary, Maternity Ward and HIV/AIDS Counselling Centre to operate more efficiently and increase access to basic healthcare for Piave’s 12,700+ residents as well as those of surrounding communities."

Talitha Calder
Talitha is interning in Piave with the Society for Women and AIDS in Kenya (SWAK). "I will be investigating the socio-cultural determinants of health and will be developing my own project which will focus on the barriers towards access to health care that young women with disabilities encounter in Piave. I will be implementing an educational curriculum at the centre which will be distributed amongst caregivers, family members, and children through the Department of Public Health and Sanitation."
