At the beginning of this week, we were busy sanding the walls and columns in preparing for paint. We were finally able to start painting with white primer half-way through the week. The first block or classroom block is completely primed and the accent wall in each classroom has been painted.
The gate and community service kitchen steel door were installed. They not only look very impressive, but their security provides us with an ability to use the centre for storage as we acquire more and more materials to complete the project.
Our workers and ROTH volunteer Colin, have been busy plastering the walls in the kitchen block. We hope to have them done by Monday of next week, to leave time to dry and then begin tiling. Due to our concrete roof on this block, it takes a longer time to dry due to lack of airflow and light.
The boys and girls bathrooms were painted and tiled this past week. They will be ready for toilets, urinals and sinks, once the final layer of primer has been applied and the tiles are completely set.
