Often deprived of a secondary education, Maasai girls are frequently obliged to discontinue their education after grade 5. For our Summer 2010 project ROTH will be venturing to Arusha, Tanzania to build the Maasai Women's Education Centre in partnership with MWEDO (Maasai Women Education and Development Organisation).
Through this third construction project, we hope to fund scholarships for Maasai girls, Maasai Women literacy programs and continue to support important community HIV/AIDS education and prevention programs. Our aim is to have 100 girls enrolling in the first year. While enrolled, they will be given an secondary school education and be provided with room and board and daily meals. We are currently seeking sponsors and volunteers for this project. 100% of your donation will go directly towards the construction of the school.
