Lembris Raphael Shambaru is one of the most experienced people on the site of the Maasai Women Secondary School; along with his partner Ombeni Jublate, he is in charge of all the labourers. On the site, he’s known as the fundi, which means manager or overseer.
Lembris has been working with Ombeni since 1991 when they formed their
own company, and have experience building homes, offices, overseeing
major road and plumbing works in the town of Arusha, and yes − schools!
Lembris keeps track of everything that’s going on the site, hires all
the labourers and oversees their work.
At home, Lembris is husband to Unice and father to three young children,
Bryson (13), Queen (10) and Hillary (7).
